The Brand

27Pinkx is a South African online beauty retailer specialising in beauty for all women. Founded by two small-town sisters, Khatija and Anjum Ahmed, they started their business by selling perspex makeup storage from their garage at home; and later created their own brand of cosmetics to sell online. In 2015, the company grew to a point which allowed them to open their first 27Pinkx Beauty Bar. At the end of 2017 the principals embarked on their franchise roll-out programme and retained the services of a specialist, FASA-accredited franchise consultancy to assist them with the process.


The main activities of 27Pinkx are the retail of a collection of exclusive make-up-, skin care- and hair care products, as well as a provision of beauty treatments, including facials, waxing, pedicures, manicures and hair styling. The company’s brands are sold online, as well as from 27Pinkx’s salons, and its beauty therapy comprises various specialised and reputable international beauty treatments not previously available in South Africa. The premises should be a residential property or be located in a high-end mall in an upmarket area in a busy street with large volumes of passing traffic, easily accessible with ample, safe parking. Staff complement comprises 1 x receptionist, 3 x therapists, 2 x nail technicians, 1 x hair stylist and 1 x cleaner.


The franchisor shall provide the franchisee and its key staff with 3 (three) weeks’ initial training. Training shall comprise both the theoretical and practical aspects of the business, including the point-of-sale system, operations, customer relations, administration, etc. Ongoing training will also be provided from time to time, as required, as the business system develops and in order to stay abreast of developments and changes in the industry.
