The Fish & Chip Co. announced last year that they were launching a nationwide competition to give their consumers some excitement and something to look forward to in the new year. Along with their co-sponsors, the soda brand Refresh, an in store competition was run until mid-January, all with the aim of rewarding one lucky customer with a brand new Chevy Spark Lite.
“After much excitement and many entries into the competition, our external auditors conducted the draw and we are pleased to announce that Boldwin Morulana from Musina will be driving off with this amazing prize!” says newly appointed Managing Executive of The Fish & Chip Co, Jan de Beer.

“Words cannot describe how happy I am. Winning a car is something you can only dream about and here I am the lucky winner! It’s almost surreal. Thank you to The Fish & Chip Co. and Refresh who made this dream a reality by choosing me,” Morulana proudly shares.
The car was handed over to its new owner at an event on Wednesday, 5 March at the Musina store – the same place where Morulana entered. Aside from the happy winner and his family, community members were also invited to celebrate the good news and the great food at the store, with additional rewards and spot prizes being the order of the day for all in attendance.

On the reasoning behind the competition, De Beer adds that the customer’s needs were at the heart of why they decided to give away a car.
“After a phenomenal year of support from our customers, including being voted the leading fish brand in the Fast Food category of the Sunday Times Top Brands survey, we know that our consumers are to thank for the success that we have achieved to date. The competition was a means of offering them something exciting in return for their patronage and loyalty.

“The idea for the competition was sparked after assessing our consumers’ needs and gaining an understanding of what this target market in the LSM 4-7 categories strive for and need at the same time. The majority of our customers either have to make use of public transport to commute or have never owned a car of their own before – not to mention a brand new one. The car was ideal to meet their need for private transport as well as their desire to own something new and dependable of their own. The Fish & Chip Co. is therefore more than happy to hand over the keys for a new set of wheels to Boldwin! We wish him many happy and safe kilometers,” De Beer concludes.
The Fish & Chip Co. vows to continue to meet and exceed the needs of their customers, not only by offering great competitions, but also through the affordable, family sized meals they offer that always lives up to their ‘Hot and A lot’ slogan.
