Even though 2014 is still young and some new year’s resolutions are holding strong, many people long for December – a time of bonuses when bank accounts were full and spending money was bountiful. To transition their customers into the New Year and ease some wallet strain following the festive season pinch, The Fish & Chip Co. will be affording customers the opportunity to win meals for a month.
According to the ‘2013 Deloitte Year-end Holiday Survey’ issued in the beginning of December, South African respondents indicated that they made a conscious decision to celebrate the festive season. This research showed that consumers intended to spend at least 4.75% more than previous years, on categories such as food, gifts and socialising.
“Bearing all the pressure increases of 2013 in mind, we don’t think customers need to feel guilty for indulging after a challenging year, which is why we want to continue to treat them with good and affordable food – especially during a time when bank balances are running low,” shares Marcel Strauss, Managing Executive of The Fish & Chip Co.
The company, which was voted the leading fish brand in the Fast Food category of the Sunday Times Top Brands survey for the second year running in 2013, prides itself in supplying meals that not only stretch the wallet but also feed more than one person at a sitting. Their slogan of ‘Hot and A Lot’ encapsulates this brand promise, no matter the time of month or year.
“Aside from serving fresh and filling family sized meals, we also pride ourselves on affordability. Hungry customers, who are not only craving good food but also their next pay cheque, stand a chance to win four meal vouchers a month until the end of March, simply by following and interacting with us daily on our Facebook page. No calls or SMS’s need to be made, they simply need to tell us what’s on their mind.”
