Blind Guys was established in 2009 in Secunda, Mpumalanga and by February 2022 the group had grown to twenty-four franchised outlets.
The company aims towards a comprehensive national footprint and to be the provider of choice of its products and services throughout South Africa. It believes in enabling deserving individuals to become successful business persons in their own right.
Blind Guys sells and installs a range of high quality blinds, awnings, shutters, security gates and ancillary products to its customers in the residential and commercial sectors. The business is sold to be operated as a home-based business initially, but it is an explicit requirement that the franchisee opens a showroom in its protected territory within 2 years of signing the initial Franchise Agreement.
Key differentiators include the quality and wide range of Blind Guys’ products, the high degree of service delivery, the company’s competitive pricing and its know-how with regards to the products, installation, aftersales service and effective marketing strategy.
Staff complement – franchisee plus 1 – 2 assistants; additional vehicles – driver/installer plus 1 – 2 assistants.
The franchisor shall provide the franchisee and its staff with 1 (one) week’s initial theoretical training including product knowledge, sales skills, business skills, administration and basic accounting, as well as intensive practical support during the first 2 (two) months from the commencement date.
External trainers may also be used to present specialist topics. Upon the completion of the training, successful candidates shall receive certificates confirming them as Blind Guys Approved Consultants.
An individual with working knowledge of the industry, above average selling skills, good product and service knowledge, self-discipline, performance-motivation and commitment, a positive attitude, energy and drive, pronounced interpersonal skills, innovative abilities regarding generating new ideas to increase sales, a vision to expand the business, the ability to always put the customer first, exceptional communication skills, the ability to identify customer needs and make customer service excellence top priority, and the ability to achieve sales budgets.
