As a consumer in search of healthy fast food alternatives for herself and her children, Janine Allis, founder of the Boost Juice Bars concept, was thrilled to ‘discover’ Smoothies while visiting the United States. Believing in the marketability of the product, she introduced the concept to the Australian market and opened the first Boost Juice outlet in Adelaide in 2000. Today Boost Juice is the leading and fastest growing juice and Smoothie bar in the world with over 280 outlets in 17 countries.
The first outlet in South Africa was opened in July 2008 and the first franchise store was opened at the end of 2011. Since then a further 12 outlets were opened. Many people join the Boost family because they want a business they can feel totally passionate about, reflects their personalities and can give 100 percent to. Being part of the Boost Juice family means being part of a network of like-minded franchisees, supported by support centre staff who really care and who constantly strive to improve the brand for its partners and customers.
Boost Juice Bars is a healthy alternative to fast food with a range of delicious low fat juices, smoothies, crushes and super snacks. All the products on the menu are at least 98% fat free and contain nothing artificial whatsoever. Boost is always on the lookout for the latest innovations in healthy products.
While the juice bar concept is relatively new in South Africa, the way in which Boost presents the concept is fresh and novel for retail in general. Boost was never simply about the healthy and great-tasting juice or smoothie – the brand is based on the entire Boost Experience which takes place every time a customer enters a store. The Boost store is clearly differentiated from similar concept stores by the unique branding and design. The store comes alive by integrating ‘fun with fruit’ with bright vibrant colours. The larger than life fruit defines and demonstrates exactly what Boost Juice is about. This experience is a combination of a fantastic product, served by positive and energetic people who greet you with a smile and are polite enough to call you by your first name, with fun music to match.
One of the unique benefits of Boost Juice is its ability and flexibility to fit into small areas. The store can be a small as 14m² or as large as 100m². The kiosks are designed to not interrupt the sight lines of other tenants and to create a flow that does not impede on the general flow of traffic in the centre.
Boost’s distinctive tactical marketing campaigns and customer relations strategy further set the brand apart from its competitors. The “Boost Guarantee” asks customers to email Boost if they are not happy with the service, product or experience they have encountered, and every single email is followed up. This ensures customers have an opportunity for one-to-one communication if they want to share their experiences and feedback, whether positive or negative.
Upon final approval by the management team, new franchisees undergo three weeks of comprehensive training by an experienced and accredited Franchisee. Your training programme is determined by the Boost team and is either conducted by the Learning and Development Operations Trainer or an experienced and accredited Partner Trainer.
Typically, training is scheduled 4-5 weeks prior to your store handover. This allows for the information you have learnt to be fresh in your mind for when you start in your store. This training, as well as material provided to you in the Operations Manual includes information on recruitment, product, suppliers, customer service, financial reporting and marketing tips, and will therefore provide you with the necessary skills to assist you in your business venture.
We are looking for new franchise partners to join the Boost Juice franchise network. You need to have a passion to own and run your own business, and thrive in an energised team environment! You need to deliver exceptional customer service!
If you fit in with the Boost business ethos, then we want to talk to you!
