The Brand

CARtime is a professionally managed national automotive aftermarket franchise group with 55 branches nationwide and more than 27 years of operational excellence. Established in 1999, the business has grown into one of South Africa’s leading independent automotive service centre franchise networks, built on proven business systems, consistent operational standards and long-term industry credibility.

Designed as a structured turnkey investment opportunity, the CARtime franchise model provides entrepreneurs with access to an established national brand, proprietary workshop management software, national supplier relationships, digital marketing infrastructure and comprehensive franchise training and support. Every aspect of the business has been developed to provide franchise partners with the systems, processes and operational framework required to establish and grow a successful automotive service centre.

As a proudly South African brand, CARtime continues to expand its national footprint while maintaining a strong reputation for professionalism, innovation and customer service. Supported by recurring customer demand, industry-leading operational systems and a collaborative franchise network, CARtime offers investors the opportunity to become part of an established and growing business platform positioned for sustainable long-term growth.

Concept

The CARtime franchise system is a structured turnkey business model designed to enable franchise partners to operate within a professionally managed national automotive aftermarket network. Each franchise is implemented according to established operational standards, ensuring consistency across all CARtime service centres and alignment with the broader national system.

The total franchise investment is R1 095 000 (incl. VAT). This amount includes the initiating fee of R115 000 (incl. VAT) and provides access to the CARtime franchise system, operational framework, brand assets and support infrastructure. A recommended working capital of R400 000 is required to support initial operational requirements.

Franchise implementation includes support with site selection and feasibility assessment, lease negotiation guidance, project coordination, operational setup planning, equipment specification, system integration and staff training. Each component is structured to ensure that the new service centre is fully aligned with CARtime operational standards and ready for efficient trading within the network.

CARtime service centres operate using a fully integrated digital workshop management system supported by proprietary software, enabling streamlined operations, accurate reporting, customer communication management and financial oversight. This technology-driven infrastructure forms a core part of the CARtime business model and supports consistent performance across all branches.

Franchise partners benefit from a structured operational environment supported by comprehensive training programmes, both theoretical and on-site, as well as ongoing franchise support, marketing assistance and access to established supplier relationships. The focus of the system is to ensure operational consistency, service quality and long-term business scalability across the network.

CARtime is accredited and recognised within the South African automotive industry through key governing and industry bodies, including FASA (Franchise Association of South Africa), MIWA (Motor Industry Workshop Association), RMI (Retail Motor Industry Organisation), the Right to Repair movement and the Motor Industry Ombudsman (MIO), reinforcing its position as a credible and established national franchise network.

The CARtime franchise model is built on consistency, systems and support, enabling franchise partners to operate within a proven national framework designed for long-term sustainability, scalability and professional service delivery.

Support

CARtime provides a structured and comprehensive training and support programme designed to ensure that each franchise partner and their team are fully equipped to operate within the CARtime national franchise system.

Training is delivered through a combination of structured theoretical learning and practical application, focusing on the implementation of CARtime operational systems, business processes and service standards. The programme is designed to ensure full alignment with the brand’s national operating framework and to support consistent performance across all service centres.

Key areas of training include the CARtime business model and system implementation, customer relationship management, financial controls and operational reporting, marketing and business development processes, as well as full training on CARtime’s proprietary workshop management software and digital systems.

Following the initial training programme, franchise partners receive a comprehensive operational manual hosted on a continuously updated digital platform, ensuring ongoing alignment with current procedures, system updates and regulatory requirements. This forms part of CARtime’s broader commitment to maintaining consistent operational standards across the network.

CARtime also provides structured ongoing support, including refresher training programmes, system updates and operational guidance for new and existing franchise teams. This ensures that all branches remain aligned with national standards and continue to operate efficiently within the franchise framework.

In addition to operational training, franchise partners benefit from centralised marketing support, brand development initiatives and customer communication systems designed to strengthen local market presence and enhance customer retention across the network.

CARtime’s training and support structure is reinforced through strategic industry and supplier partnerships, which contribute to the long-term stability, growth and continuous improvement of the franchise system.
