The same management team has led the business since its inception, successfully guiding the business through changes in the fast, exciting and ever changing industry. As experienced IT retailers they have a wealth of knowledge in IT, marketing and branding. Computer Mania outlets are predominantly located in upmarket shopping malls where the heavy foot traffic in these malls contributes to impulse buying and turnover. Stores typically occupy between 60 and 200sqm.
A typical outlet will employ two to four sales people in addition to the store owner or manager. Outlets that offer an in-store technical centre will require additional staff.
Computer Mania’s head office and technical support team are adept at managing remote stores. With a success record spanning 22 years, they are equipped to lead any dedicated franchisee to become a successful Computer Mania IT retailer.
During the initial four weeks training the training programme covers sales, product, systems, administration, merchandising and point-of-sale training. This period of classroom training is followed by two weeks of in store training. On-going training is available on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year and is compulsory for all.
Their industry leading, full colour catalogues are highly effective at raising brand awareness and, in addition, each franchise will be allocated space on the company website where they may promote their store.
To receive the full benefit of the franchise system, franchisees must be willing to trade within the framework provided by the franchisor. Prior retail experience will be a definite advantage. Staying abreast of technological developments is critical and franchisees will benefit from a keen interest in computer related products.
