The Brand

The core business of Mr Kruger is the buying and selling of bullion-related products, recycled precious metals, numismatics and collectible memorabilia. The company was established in Montana, Pretoria in 2014, and opened its first franchised outlet in Moreleta Park in 2016. What sets Mr Kruger apart from competitors, and which poses significant barriers to entry to new entrants to the market, are Mr Kruger’s range of products and services, and the special rapport and well-nurtured relationship which it has with its service providers and the regulators of the industry. Mr Kruger operates in an industry which is virtually recession-proof and has identified approximately ten ideal shopping centres in viable areas which will be made available to meritorious candidates.


This community orientated business trades in bullion which comprises gold, silver and platinum, typically Krugerrands and silver bars; numismatics which include the SA Mint’s bouquet of products and older collectables; and recycled metal which consists of pre-owned jewellery and diamonds. In addition, Mr Kruger does jewellery design and manufacturing, and provides safe-keeping services for the abovementioned commodities. Mr Kruger outlets are located in upmarket retail shopping malls, 80m² to 100m², with a clearly defined shop front, high volumes of pedestrian traffic, and ample and safe parking.


The franchisor shall provide the franchisee with 3 (three) months’ phased, initial training. Training shall comprise both the theoretical and practical aspects of the business. Training courses shall include instruction on recycled metals, diamonds, bullion products, manufacturing, numismatics, best practices, safety, administration & finance systems, operational systems and industry-specific soft skills, specifically with regards to the buying and selling of commodities. Training will, inter alia, alternate between existing stores for a period of 2 (two) weeks prior to the launch of the franchised outlet, on-site handholding for the first full month’s trading, as well as on-site review for the second month’s trading.

The franchisor shall also provide the franchisee with ongoing training from time to time, as required.
