Renowned for the art of making pizza in full view of the customer, Pizza Perfect is in the business of building a sustainable, recognized and respected brand, loved by many fans of authentic and traditional wood fired pizza.

The Brand

Using his experience and passion gained in the bakery and deli industry, Michael Solomou started the original Pizza Perfect at Honeydew Shopping Centre in Johannesburg in 1989.

In his quest to make and sell the perfect pizza, he introduced a pizza with significantly more cheese and toppings making it a more premium, fulfilling and satisfactory product for his customers.

Michael Solomou had no intention to franchise his business at that time, as to him it was more of a gratifying experience to hand over to his customers a premium product he felt proud of.

Due to the immensely positive feedback received from his customers for his delicious products and the demand to grow the brand by prospective franchisees and landlords alike, he decided to spread his wings. By 1992 the second Pizza Perfect opened in Newlands, Johannesburg and later that same year the third store was opened in Weltevreden Park Roodepoort. The introduction of chicken to the outlets came in the mid-nineties, which added variety to the menu and the exciting way of preparing succulent chicken in a traditional wood burning oven.

Pizza Perfect has grown over the years into a group of over ninety flourishing outlets nationwide and is a testimony of Michael Solomou original belief in his product as far back as 1989.

All these years later the customer’s expectations have not changed, nor has the Group’s passion for preparing the traditional and superior wood burning pizzas, pastas, and chicken in front of its customers, allowing the customers, not to only keep an eye on their food whilst it is being prepared but to be amazed by the expertise of the staff.

The establishment of the central kitchen in 1996 where the majority of the ingredients used in the outlets are manufactured and distributed to Franchisees, went a long way in ensuring that only the freshest and finest quality ingredients are used in the final product sold to our customers in all our outlets.

In an endeavour to enhance the Pizza Perfect franchise system, many painstaking hours have been invested in refining its operational processes and systems.

Pizza Perfect is renowned for the art of making pizza in full view of the customer. Pizza is made with freshly prepared dough, quality tomato base topped with flavoursome toppings covered with creamy mozzarella cheese and cooked in wood burning clay ovens. Toppings range from selected cold cuts, cooked meats and fresh veggies with aromatic sauces.

Pizza Perfect as a brand, is accessible to people from all walks of life, economic levels and ethnic backgrounds. Affordability plays an integral part in our brand and business philosophy; hence its broad based market appeal.

The establishment of a new Pizza Perfect outlet is well suited to small and medium suburban community shopping centres, anchored by any of the top four national food retailers coupled with a good tenant mix. Visibility and accessibility is key to the success of every Pizza Perfect outlet.


The Franchisee is provided with continued support incorporating the following:-

A business system including all documentation incidental thereto (fully discussed and explained during training).

Initial training for both Franchisee and staff members. On-going training is provided throughout the relationship in those areas of the franchise business that either Pizza Perfect or the Franchisee identified as areas that need additional training.

A brand specific operations manual incorporating various other manuals such as training, marketing, Head Office information etc., will be provided to the Franchisee. This is a valuable document and contains Eclectic Brands and Pizza Perfect’s trade secrets, systems and procedures. This manual will be updated throughout the franchise relationship to ensure that the Franchisee is informed of all changes to, and development of the franchise system such: as updates on standard operating procedures, product development, pricing, promotions, training and general focus points.

Outlet inspections will be done on a regular basis that will consist of for example corrective action plans, system and marketing implementation support.
