The Brand

Royal Tombstones started in a garage in Pietermaritzburg in 2011 when Craig and Lana realized there was a big space in the market to offer alternative cheaper tombstones to the LSM market who could not afford the more expensive granite and marble products.

Concept

The franchisor owns and runs the factory supplying the tombstones to the franchisee retail shop clients. The franchisee buys a franchise area in which to trade in. This franchise consists of a retail shop in which samples are placed and the franchise sells into their designated area. You get a full turnkey showroom. This shop is managed and run by only two staff members. The uniqueness of this is that a franchise owner can still have other business interests and own several shops as they are very easy to manage as you are not holding stock. All orders are supplied directly from the factory. We also have a unique product in the market with very few competitors and a massive LSM market in which to sell to. A typical location is a high foot traffic area. Franchisee also makes 50% margin on all stones sold so making the shop very profitable without having to chase big turnover.

Support

The franchise owner will get full training for a week at our training facility. We also have area managers that will keep in constant communication and training with the franchisee’s staff.
