The T-Shirt Warehouse is a concept that specialises in the supply of large volume corporate and customised clothing and gifts to corporate companies, SME’s, government departments, schools, clubs and a wide variety of different customers from all walks of life in need of various clothing items and uniforms.
The T-Shirt Warehouse is the leading and largest vertically integrated corporate and gift company in Africa, with suppliers like Barron, Amrod, Altitude and many others providing The T-Shirt Warehouse with superior products.
Stoffel and Suzanne Bornman are the co-partners and founders of The T-Shirt Warehouse, a company that started 5 years ago after Suzanne and Stoffel decided to merge their own respective businesses.
Both Stoffel and Suzanne graduated from the Technikon Pretoria, with a National Higher Diploma in Graphic Art in 1995. It was around the same period that Stoffel and Suzanne met.
Stoffel and Suzanne both eventually settled in London where Stoffel joined a company called Signstop and Suzanne worked for a publishing company, Ryland Peter and Small before returning to South Africa and both resuming positions at the Fancourt Golf Club in George.
Early in 2004 Stoffel joined his brother Ian Bornman, in a t-shirt manufacturing concern in Garankuwa. Stoffel wanted to go on his own and opened Cross Clothing in Tannery Park in Silverton and Suzanne opened her own business, Trinity Embroidery. Trinity Embroidery and Cross Clothing were established in December 2004, with one six head industrial embroidery machine. They grew from a client base of 1 customer working out of their small holding in Montana, to having a factory in Silverton, 2 outlets in Menlyn and Wonderboom as well as a large client base today.
In 2011, Stoffel and Suzanne merged their two businesses and founded The T-Shirt Warehouse, creating a vertically integrated promotions company and providing a one stop solution to the market. Today, The T-Shirt Warehouse renders services to mostly the construction industry, game farms, start ups and companies that require uniforms.
It is The T-Shirt Warehouse’s plan to roll out approximately 50 branches across Southern Africa through the franchise project.
The T-Shirt Warehouse employs approximately 25 staff at their Silverton branch alone and has seen good, steady growth over the last 5 years.
The ideal franchise showroom will host one to three employees and the franchisee will be able to interface with clients and supply these same clients with branded and customised clothing, printing, embroidery and corporate gifts at the same discounted rates of up to 15%, enjoyed by The T-Shirt Warehouse with its current suppliers.
The T-Shirt Warehouse is also equipped to make customised t-shirts not available in its supplier catalogues, defined by the shirt type and the pantone match which is achieved from and per dye, at their factory in the north western part of Pretoria.
The catalogued clothing and gifts are ordered directly by the franchisee from The T-Shirt Warehouse’s suppliers, such as Kevro and through its own website, or through The T-Shirt Warehouse’s factory in Silverton if not contained within supplier catalogues, and the franchisee will enjoy the support of The T-Shirt Warehouse’s Legend software during the day to day running of the franchise business which details each step of the process and feedback on all orders is available at the press of a button.
The T-Shirt Warehouse is establishing its franchise showrooms within the major centres of South Africa. These areas include but are not limited to Pretoria, Nelspruit, Polokwane, Bloemfontein, Durban, Richards Bay, Rustenburg, Potchefstroom and Phalaborwa. Opportunities across border exist in Gabarone in Botswana, Windhoek in South West Africa as well as Zambia and Tanzania.
Each showroom has friendly staff, they are trained in giving expert advice and sell the quality franchisees can count on.
The T-Shirt Warehouse offers complete branded apparel and promotional solutions, now through their franchises. They have done the research and have paid their school fees so that their franchisees don’t have to!
The T-Shirt Warehouse franchisee can expect to receive extensive training within all facets of running their franchise, from the day to day operations, product knowledge, use of the suppliers’ ordering system, financial management training, sales and marketing training and training on our own ordering system.
The theoretical training is complemented with practical exposure at our head office and a nominated training showroom, before the franchise is awarded to the franchisee.
A franchisee will be supplied with the following:
• An Operations and Procedures Manual.
• Practical training at Head Office.
• Training Manuals compiled by The T-Shirt Warehouse’s team.
Launch support is given through pre-opening local marketing and press releases, social media marketing, specials and promotions.
As a leading brand in the branded clothing industry, we provide opportunity through offering franchises to qualifying franchise candidates and we would like to welcome our franchisees on board.
When our franchisees join The T-Shirt Warehouse, they will become a representative of our growing and expanding brand, with the backing of a business that has consistently displayed success and growth over the last 15 years.
What fuelled it? From the beginning, we’ve been passionate about helping our clients’ brands succeed. We know that as well as being great at what brands do, brands need to present well.
If our candidates are new to franchising or have no experience at all, there is no need to worry. The T-Shirt Warehouse will provide each new franchisee with access to support and training, as well as a proven business and help create employment opportunities within each new franchisee’s community.
