FASA member Sorbet will add to its successful beauty and nail salon chain by rolling out its new Sorbet Drybar franchise. This innovative US hairstyling concept is essentially an express hair salon that offers convenient, affordable blow-dry’s – no cuts or colours – in a relaxed, funky environment complete with in-salon entertainment. Based around convenience at every level, the stores will be open 7 days a week, have a flat rate of per blow, no matter the length or texture of the hair, currently at R165 per blow, and offer a host of value-added services, such as scalp massages, hair treatments and a professional nail service. Customers relax while enjoying these treatments, as well as the free in-salon Wi-Fi, DVD’s, music and complimentary champagne. According to Rudi Rudolph, MD of Sorbet, not only is this a first for South Africa, but the offering will also include hosting groups of women as part of bridal showers, baby showers, teen parties and bachelorette parties which makes it totally unique. The group aims to open five to 10 new dry-bars per annum, increasing the number of new stores in line with feasibility and acceptance levels.
