In 2004 Mike left the corporate world after identifying a gap in the car wash industry. Having a number of marketing qualifications and 17 years experience to back this up, Mike was able to design a superior car wash offer that would address the gap in the market place and revolutionise the industry. When referring to his competitors, Mike always talks of the “three plastic chairs in the sun” scenario “where two of the chairs are broken and the other one has a staff member sitting on it”. To break out of this mould was a challenge as Mike had to ensure the investment matched the return. His attention to detail and high levels of professionalism ensured that the concept was an immediate success and as a result the first 082 CAR WASH™ was established in Feb 2005. The Fourways 082 CAR WASH™ opened doors within 10 months thereafter and the franchise has never looked back since.

The 082 CAR WASH ™ Franchise Office attributes their success to this simple philosophy of spoiling their customers and providing a superior service experience. In the same vein they expect their franchisees to be customer and service oriented. These efforts have ensured repeat business and in turn created profitable franchisees.
The 082 CAR WASH ™ Franchise provides a refreshingly up-market option to having your car washed. Our franchisees pride themselves in the exceptional service they provide to their customers (guests). We have incorporated a coffee shop (Carwash Café™) where guests can relax while watching plasma screens and enjoy complimentary beverages.
All this, while our professional managers and supervisors ensure their vehicles are being cleaned to the high standards set by the franchise office.
The head office of 082 CAR WASH ™ is located in JHB at 33 Shelton Road, Harmelia, Edenvale. From here the franchisor provides support to its franchisees and all matters relating to site identification, site auditing, lease negotiations, staff recruitment, training, marketing and operational support.
A comprehensive Operations Manual is provided on signing of the Franchise Agreement. All franchisees and their respective managers attend two weeks of structured on-the-job training at the corporate store in Edenvale. They are then tested to identify any gaps in the transfer of knowledge.
Operations managers visit each branch every fortnight and complete a comprehensive Advice Document for the franchisee. This document provides advice on every key success factor from staffing to turn around times on washes.
082 CAR WASH ™ outlets use only quality quality chemicals and polishes, procured from approved suppliers such as Shield and AutoGlym.
The set-up cost of the franchise affords the franchisee a full turnkey operation that includes a Carwash Café™, two to three wash bays, eight to twelve drying/valet bays, furniture, equipment, signage and all start up marketing.
Over and above this the franchisor will also provide on-site assistance during the first week of opening.
Start up marketing and ongoing marketing include print adverts in regional newspapers, flyers, promotional P.O.S. materials and very importantly they carry out annual fundraising for charities as a corporate responsibility to their community.
