Cam Era was originally started in May 1993 as a CCTV installations company. In 2009 we realised that our future lies in duplicating our business system and decided to pursue franchising a means of building our company footprint both locally and internationally.

The Brand

Cam Era Surveillance (Pty) Ltd. was originally started in May 1993 as a CCTV installations company and soon became one of the top five in South Africa. In 2009 we realised that our future lies in franchising, a duplicated version of the business, both here and internationally. We started with the brand “ibotix.” ibotix, was to be a full system integrator type business model (cctv, access, booms, gates, alarms, fencing, fibre optics, wi-fi and so on). Despite major investment, it was never taken to market as it proved too cumbersome for a novice to comprehend and turn into a profitable business in time to gain a return on investment.

The expensive lessons learned, have been duly noted and thus a simpler, faster model has evolved. To perfect the operations and franchisee technical support mechanisms, we aligned with Videofied and Macado technologies to create this unique Cam Era franchise opportunity as a focused, robust franchise model.


The Cam Era brand is driven with the values of integrity, honesty, passion and servanthood. Franchisees will be advising all their clients on the best way to keep themselves, their families and their assets as safe as possible. This therefore, has an outreaching benefit to the communities we serve.

Each franchisee will experience the world class selling course “the Sale Labyrinth” which is trained and mentored to them both in the field and classroom over the critical first six months. Their drive and passion is a raw material that can be honed.

They are made aware that executive coaching is available for the life of the franchise, with monthly interactive “POWER-HOUR” sessions, to cover everything from business acumen, to selling, planning and life skills.
