ON TAP Plumbing Supplies was established in 1990 in Pietermaritzburg to focus directly on supplying the plumbing merchant business.
In June 1996, the first franchise opened in Durban to serve the public. Today, the ON TAP group consists of owner managed franchise outlets across South Africa, with the vision of becoming the leading retailers for bathrooms in Southern Africa.

On Tap Bathroom and Plumbing supplies is a franchise providing bathroom, kitchen and plumbing supplies to both trade and retail customers.
On Tap Bathroom and Plumbing supplies is the only franchise of its kind. Each store is owner managed. On Tap stores owners pride themselves on being experts, able to provide fast, friendly and efficient service.
Many of the On Tap stores sell predominantly to trade customers i.e. plumbers. Retail or showroom customers make 40% of the market. In terms of the retail customers, marketing is geared to high earners with large disposable incomes.
On Tap has a national footprint and is looking to grow especially in areas such as Gauteng, Mpumalanga and the Free State.
New franchisees receive two months training before the store opens. During this time franchisees are exposed to all aspects of day-to-day management and administration of an ON TAP store. This includes hands-on training for the franchisee and staff in an existing store.
