In December 1983 two lecturing colleagues, Goolam Mahomed and Solly Suleman, left the education field to brave commerce and industry and open the very first Sparkport Pharmacy. It all began with a 100 m² shop which has grown to five company owned stores and three franchise stores, the first opening in 1995, which are all located in KwaZulu Natal. For over 3 decades, Sparkport has been providing affordable, accessible healthcare and has become synonymous with value, quality and good service.

Sparkport Pharmacies is ready to expand their network of franchises countrywide.

Sparkport is a pharmacy retail business with the head office providing the infrastructure, negotiating with medical aids and suppliers, on behalf of the group.

Certain stores have clinics with qualified clinic sisters is in attendance who are qualified to conduct most screening tests, minor diagnosing treatment within their scope of practice, dressings and health education. Baby care facilities are also available to have babies weighed and immunised. We also offer travel and flu vaccinations and a corporate service, where our clinic sisters go to companies and ensure holistic wellness testing.

All our pharmacies are managed by our qualified in-house pharmacists. Similarly, our franchise pharmacies too, are owned and managed by pharmacists. This ensures that you receive hands on health care and the personal touch of your local pharmacist always.
