From it’s humble beginnings in a renovated Richmond Hill home, Vovo Telo, an original artisan bakery, has grown into a category leader. In the early days customers would bring their own fillings and picnic on the stoep of the bakery. Over the years a range of sandwiches, pastries, light breakfasts and lunches were added to the offering. Vovo Telo has always prided itself on products hand-made according to traditional techniques and standards, recognising the talent of its bakers, kitchen staff and waiters and the importance of inspiration and pride in what makes Vovo Telo great. By embracing the talents and individual personalities of its staff Vovo Telo has successfully created a visible passion customers can sense when they visit any of its restaurants.

The Brand

Vovo Telo is an artisan bakery, preparing breads and pastries in the traditions of Italy and France: Ciabatta, Baguette, Rye, Brioche, Sourdough, Croissants and many more.

Baked fresh each and every day, every loaf is hand-shaped and prepared from the finest quality stone-ground flour. Each is unique and distinctive, and looks like a delectable work of art.

Vovo Telo is about the theatre of baking, with the bakery in most cases being centrally showcased, so that our customers can watch our artisan bakers at work whilst they hand shape the slow fermented dough, load and unload them from the ovens – further allowing the aroma of the freshly baked breads and pastries to fill the air. This theatre reinforces our love affair for unwavering bread quality, and creates an attachment/desire between customers and product.

Vovo Telo is an artisan Bakery & Café, inviting and tempting our customers to taste our magical bread & coffee creations in an unpretentious, relaxed environment, ideally situated with some natural sunlight in opportunely suited topographical locations.
