The Brand

The Zebro’s story begins in the small town of Caledon in the Western Cape. Here customers were found queuing for a very particular meal: chicken, basted with a distinctive marinade that would become the famous Zebro’s Sauce, and a generous portion of chips.

Concept

Nothing brings families together like a good old South African braai and what sets Zebro’s chicken apart from the rest lies in the preparation. Chicken pieces are basted with their famous Zebro’s sauce and then braaied to perfection using coals providing a healthier alternative to deep-fried chicken. Lastly, the chicken and a generous portion of chips gets another generous finish of the Zebro’s sauce to be enjoyed by the entire family. Customers can also look forward to an expansive menu including chicken burgers, Russian-style sausages, fresh-cut chips, and assorted salads.

The simplicity of the product range has resulted in the lowest new-store establishment cost in its category as well as uncomplicated in-store operations. Zebro’s meals can be enjoyed either as a take-away or eat-in meal.
